There is no Light in Darkness and Darkness Before Dawn are hands down the best romance novels I've read so far this year, i have a top 5 list and these two novels are number 1 and 2 spots.
It had everything a reader wants, a hot guy, a strong heroine, an epic love story, lots of hot sex without falling into repetitiveness, friendships that withstand all obstacles, it was a web of secrets and lies that as you get deeper and deeper into the story you start discovering together with Blake and Cole and there was more than one time when my jaw dropped open in total and utter shock... lets say that it had a few "Luke I am your father" moments where my OMGs were so loud my husband asked me if I was ok lol
Claire sure knows how to develop her characters and intertwine them all into the story, Aubry and Aimee, Greg and Becky, Connor and Dean, Brian and Alex... even Benny! at one point it felt like I knew all these people personally.
The story was one I wont soon forget and will probably revisit, it made me laugh and swoon and shed a lot of tears as well and to me that's what matters, when you can feel the characters' happiness, pain, hopelessness and hope then a book has succeeded in capturing you completely. I would give both these books 10 stars if I could, I absolutely loved these to the moon and back and back again. I will miss Cole, Aub and Cowboy :)

Blake asking Aubry to walk her down the aisle and giving him the reasons why she chose him was so emotional it had me loudly sobbing... among many beautiful moments in this book this one had to be one of my favorite ones. :)

This sequel was WELL WORTH THE WAIT! I loved every single word of this story. It had suspense that kept me on edge. I love the chemistry not just between Cole and Blake, but between all the characters. Claire did an incredible job and I look forward to reading more of her books. Claire, I would love for you to continue with this series and characters!
What an amazing, jaw dropping, heart stopping way to end Blake and Cole's journey! I won't give too much away. I didn't think Claire could top the first book, I say that because I absolutely loved it. But, she blew me away, tore my heart out and then slowly put the pieces back. I love Blake and Cole's devotion, trust, determination, passion, love they have towards each other!

There are several life lessons in this book. The one that I love is that family isn't always blood! Sometimes we struggle throughout life because we don't have the perfect family, when all along if we open our eyes they've been there the entire time.

I highly recommend this book, be prepared for some really tense moments, tender love, hot passion and a love story that will leave you breathless. Thank you Claire Contreras for taking me on this journey that I will never ever forget.
You start this book quite excited because you want to now what happened to Blake after that terrific end of There is no light in darkness but you get to a point in this story were you (or me! hehe) get all distracted by so many facts and small stories thrown together. And don't forget one of my favorite lines that can describe this book and said by Cole himself "somebody give me a freaking family tree and explain everyone's connection to everyone else".
Yep, that pretty much summarizes Darkness Before Down. Now that I'm writing the review I think all this confusion is the result of trying to give and end to Cole and Blake's story.
